My Philosophy
ALL students can learn, and have the right to
learn
To effectively promote learning, I need to be prepared, but I also need to be flexible and responsive to my students needs I aim to create engagement, deeper and lifelong learning through cross-curricular, cross-cultural and wider links. Comments from Supervisors "This is Erin's strongest area. She quickly developed a good rapport with the class. She was able to work effectively with the whole class in an instructional setting, and worked really well one-to-one around the room as the group completed assigned tasks. She developed a good working relationship with some difficult, unproductive boys. The class respected her and responded to her instructions and expectations." Ian McArthur "the students have enjoyed Erin's lessons" Harbans Sekhon "Erin has used our internal VELS assessments to build an academic picture of her students. She then adapted the work to suit individuals' needs" Ieuan Thomas Working with Parents As this year was the first time my prep students had participated in the performance, there is a lot of new information for them and their parents. We work hard to prepare students and their parents for the new experience - the hustle and bustle of 190 other students and their parents, waiting quietly, and learning and remembering a set routine. As well as making myself available before and after classes, I gave parents a letter containing the vital info written clearly and concisely. |
