Working with Parents
As
part of my dance teaching, I work with my
students' parents to monitor their progress, carry out
administration and protocols, and to prepare for the annual dance
performance. As this year was the first time my prep students had participated in the performance, there is a lot of new information for them and their parents. We work hard to prepare students and their parents for the new experience - the hustle and bustle of 190 other students and their parents, waiting quietly, and learning and remembering a set routine. As well as making myself available before and after classes, I gave parents a letter containing the vital info written clearly and concisely.
